British progressive rock pioneer and singer-songwriter Peter Hammill will perform live in Padua on Sunday, November 15, 2026. The concert takes place at the historic Sala dei Giganti in Palazzo Liviano (Piazza Capitaniato) starting at 6:30 PM, as part of his new Italian solo tour promoting his upcoming studio album alongside career highlights.
From Van der Graaf Generator to Solo Career
As co-founder and frontman of Van der Graaf Generator in 1967, Peter Hammill shaped the history of progressive rock with landmark albums like Pawn Hearts and H to He, Who Am the Only One. Running parallel to the band, his solo career launched in 1971 with Fool’s Mate, laying the groundwork for decades of poetic songwriting and vocal experimentation that inspired legends such as David Bowie and Peter Gabriel.
